I’m the husband of a wonderful, caring woman and the father of two energetic young boys. Together with my family, I’ve lived in Ottawa for 12 years after moving to the city from Mississauga, ON, in 2006. When we moved to Ottawa, we initially settled on the east side of the city in Gloucester before moving to Barrhaven in 2014. Both of my kids were raised in Ottawa and attend school in the area. When I moved to Ottawa, I recognized the importance of French in the capital region and decided to learn the language.
I’ll be the first to admit that learning a new language as an adult isn’t easy. But I’m proud to say that I can now read and write in French and am working hard to improve my oral communication skills. I also enrolled my children in French immersion. Fully bilingual, they now know French better than I do! Being able to communicate with my children in French hasn’t just strengthened our relationship. It has also given my sons the opportunity to develop their confidence with the language.
Over the past 22 years, I’ve worked in a variety of fields in the finance industry, including income tax consultancy, financial management and debt consolidation, and audits and budgeting. Through these experiences, I’ve learned that the best way to generate and implement cost-effective solutions is to listen and understand the underlying issues. As city councillor for Ward 3, I will listen carefully to Barrhaven residents so that I can understand the issues that are affecting your lives. This will allow me to identify feasible solutions that effectively address your needs as residents. As I do for my clients, I aim to think outside the box and go above and beyond to give you the community you deserve to live in.
I believe that city hall is a place to do the work that will make Ottawa a better place to live, not a place to play politics. With the support of my family, friends, and community, I’ll be your voice in the city and I’ll focus on solving instead of just discussing key issues. Improving our community is a team sport, one where YOUR concerns and ideas matter and become the issues I raise and advocate for at city hall. Actions speak louder than words, so let’s work together to make Barrhaven the best place to live in Ottawa. There’s never been a better time to make it safer, more welcoming, more economically secure, and more sustainable.
